Following on from our visit to the saddle manufacturers showcase day at Moulton College in Northants, I made my way back up on Tuesday for a 2 day saddle fitting course, again run by the Society of Master Saddlers. What a brilliant 2 days it was. We had lectures from vets, tree & saddle manufacturers & Master Saddlers who are well respected throughout the trade. We also got our hands on the college horses & looked at a huge selection of saddles on them & assessed them in regard to fit, fitness for purpose & rider comfort. It was also an excellent opportunity to see a few makes that we are not familiar with & to talk to the saddlers who fit them. All in all, an excellent 2 days, cant wait to go back next year hopefully for the 4 day one!
